Air has to come in somewhere and leave somewhere else.
Ridge ventsRun along the peak so hot air leaves at the highest point, where it wants to go.
Soffit and intakeCool air enters low at the eaves. Without intake, exhaust vents do almost nothing.
Off-ridge and staticFor roof shapes where a continuous ridge vent is not an option.
Powered and solarWhen the geometry cannot move enough air on its own.
BafflesKeep insulation from blocking the intake path. A very common problem we find.
BalanceToo much exhaust and too little intake pulls conditioned air out of the house.

How do I know if mine is bad?
A very hot upstairs, an attic like an oven, high cooling bills, or premature wear on the roof surface.
Can you add ventilation without replacing the roof?
Often yes. Depends on the roof type and shape.
Does it lower my power bill?
It reduces how much heat pushes into the house, so the air conditioning works less.
Is it included in a new roof?
Yes. It is part of a proper install and warranties generally require it.
